What can you do with
Monitor your motor RPM, response time, and temperature in real time
Set your motor RPM, Torque, and even direction all in one screen.
Tech Mode
Enter tech mode to lock settings. Once locked the DFS controller will store the” locked date :”
If unlocked at a future date the controller will log the new date and display it in the DFS next time the motor is connected to the DFS app.
To unlock Tech settings, re-enter Tech mode then confirm you wish to continue. Once unlocked the date stamp will be stored in the controller and displayed next time the DFS App is connected to the motor.
Feature List
RPM Dashboard
See precise RPM changes in real time while shooting your replica.
Connection status notes the motor you are connected to. Only one motor may be connected at any one time.
RPM Adjustment
Use the small green “ON/OFF” button to turn off this feature when not needed so you don’t accidentally change settings .
Move the slider up or down in order to achieve the RPM your replica requires.
This can be done in real time while shooting or while the replica is static.
Note:
- Warhead suggests running your motor at 100% torque for best results, lowering torque under what is needed for your particular build may see your motor generate more heat than would be seen if the torque value is set higher.
Torque Adjustment
Use the small green “ON/OFF” button to turn off this feature when not needed so you don’t accidentally change settings. Move the slider up or down in order to achieve the TORQUE your replica requires. This can be done in real time while shooting on while the replica is static.
Note:
- Warhead suggests running your motor at 100% torque for best results, lowering torque under what is needed for your particular build may see your motor generate more heat than would be seen if the torque value is set higher.
Battery Voltage Display
The battery voltage display will show real time battery voltage sag when firing your replica.
Note:
- It is normal to see the voltage drop when firing then rise again when your replica is static.
- The Battery Voltage will also drop as your battery is drained over time.
Current Display
The Current Display will show real time current in AMPS as you shoot your replica.
This data can be used to determine efficiency, run times and appropriate battery size for your build.
Motor Temperature Display
The motor temperature display will show real time motor temperature while you shoot your replica.
Use this data to track the efficiency of your build.
Note:
- It is normal to see the motor temp rise quickly to its operating temperature before reaching operational temperature.
Max RPM Display
This data shows the highest RPM achieved during given test session. This data will reset to zero when the app is disconnected from the motor.
Note:
- It is normal to see a slight difference in actual RPM when the motor is run with no load to that seen when the motor is fitted to a replica and subjected to load.
Bench Test Mode
STATE
Notes if the motor is spinning with no errors or issues.
ON/OFF
Use this button to start and stop the motor from running when plugged directly into a battery or power source.
This feature can be used on the test bench to run your motor to test shimming and gear alignment before adding your ETU or completing the gearbox assembly.
TEST MODE
To turn on and off this feature when not in use.
Motor Direction Change
Reverse the spin direction of your motor.
Once selected follow the prompts to complete the change.
Note:
- Some replicase require a reverse direction and as such they will not work with the one way bearing supplied with the VANGUARD Pro shaft tower.
- Intros case please use the spacer provided and fit the uni-direction bearing tower of your choice before fitting the motor to your gearbox.
- Check the list of replicas compatible with each direction shown on the DFS App pop up box if unsure.
